As for work with investigators this past week we managed to meet with Shane again. We had planned to see the Sunday Morning session of conference with him at a member’s home, but he ended up having to take someone to the airport during that time.

Other than that there isn’t a whole lot to make mention of. I don’t have the address of the apartment I will be at, but I will have that next week.

Oh, as another note. I don’t know if you noticed it, but the members that were at where we watched the Saturday Afternoon session noticed that singing in the MTC choir was an Elder Archuleta. They noticed it on the last closeup shot of the choir in the closing hymn.

As for investigators here in Fenton, the most serious investigator we have is Shane, the one whose ex-wife is a member. He’s expressed the desire to be baptized and to be ready for it when he does.

Other than that there hasn’t been too much interest from anyone else, but we are continuing to work.

As for the couple, Clarkson and Tasha, they weren’t there on Sunday. We had called them earlier in the week, but I guess for whatever reason they didn’t make it.

We have, in total, found 11 new investigators this past transfer. However several of them haven’t had a real interest so some of them have not continued with lessons.

Other than that there isn’t a whole lot that has gone on. We did a fair amount of service this week as well and we went to the viewing and the funeral of a member who had an accident on their mini-farm a couple weeks ago.

The couple I mentioned three weeks ago that came for the third hour came to the Sacrament meeting yesterday. They were busy with something else so they left right after that. They are planning on coming next week and hopefully we can start arranging times to meet with them ourselves.

Besides that we managed to teach quite a few lessons and have a couple of new investigators as well. It has been convenient since the Bishop’s son got home a couple weeks ago and has nothing to do for the next few weeks till he goes out to BYU-Idaho, so he has been going around with us.

Right now we are trying to take all of the investigators we are working with and helping them progress, because at the moment it seems as if they are interested in what we say, but not in doing it. But, we are continuing on going through with it all.

Other than that I can’t think of anything specific to mention that has been going on. Hopefully as we continue to invite our investigators to progress further the ones that are ready will immerse themselves in the gospel.

As for Steve, Allan and Laura we weren’t able to have contact this week, though we have lately managed to teach a former investigator and ex-husband of a member of the ward here Shane. We had a good lesson when we met with him and we took the Bishop’s son who just got back from his mission a week and a half ago. We’ve determined that in the coming lessons we need to focus on the development of faith rather than wholly relying on the thought of mind.

We’ve also begun teaching a less-active part-member family, the Lunts. It’s a brother and a sister and the sister has two children, the youngest is 11 and has not been baptized. Their are concerns particularly about the father who is not a member though we will be able to teach them for the time being to help prepare for when she is able to be baptized.

Julian is also doing well. It seems for now he has determined to serve a mission, though right now his plan is to finish his general courses for college first. In our meeting with him we are studying with him out of Preach My Gospel to help him learn and prepare for a mission, as well as to share the gospel with his friends now.

Other that that there isn’t much, thank you for everything.

One of the people we stopped by, Steve, is someone who is interested in what other people think. We’ve now invited him to come and visit church and we stop by whenever we are in the area. Another person we met while tracting, Allan, is somewhat similar. We left him with a copy of the Book of Mormon with a chapter to read and to pray about and are going by this week.

Julian was ordained as a priest yesterday and Laura was also at church, though she left after sacrament meeting before we could actually talk with her.

This coming week we have zone conference tomorrow and right after that I’m going on exchanges to Hillsboro till Thursday night, which should be interesting.

Other than that, not much.

We had our first time actually sitting down with Sarah and teaching about the Restoration the day before Elder Nebeker left, and we went by yesterday to introduce Elder Turner. She is very open to ideas, but also very set. As far as I can tell it may not be immediately, but eventually that it will click for her.

Yesterday we also had a couple show up for third hour. He’s from the Dominican Republic and the rest of his family are members. He somewhat recently moved to Fenton where is wife is from. From the conversation we had I can tell that he is quite interested, I can’t say for sure about her.

Jullian is also doing well, he got some sort of stomach flu yesterday so he wasn’t at church, but since Elder Turner hadn’t met him yet, we went by and visited him for a bit.

As for the weather, we’ve had up and down temperatures, but it hasn’t been too bad this winter, I’ve only had to get out my heavy winter coat for two days this winter so far. Other than that a sweater and wind breaker have been sufficient. Last spring we had some good thunderstorms and a decent snow storm earlier in the late winter, but nothing really since I left Rockwood. We are supposed to get scattered thunderstorms tomorrow though.

Other than that there isn’t too much to make mention of, other than a couple weeks ago the World Series Trophy was making a stop in Fenton for people to get pictures with, and Elder Nebeker and I got a couple. Here they are.

Last week there was an issue with the computers at the library. As for the Valentine’s package, it arrived promptly.

As for news on what’s going on, we had transfer calls on Saturday and Elder Nebeker is getting transferred to Tuscola, IL. I’m staying here with an Elder Turner, he’s leaving his first area, East St. Louis and I actually was able to meet him a week ago, because his companion used to be with Elder Nebeker and we arranged to have our preparation day together.

As for other news here, Laura hasn’t been able to make it to church the last few weeks, but with the family mission plan/goals our ward mission leader’s family has a goal now of having a lesson with her in their home, so they are adding that as an extra focus.

Julian is doing well. This past week when we met with him we talked with him about the ward/family mission plans, since the Sunday where that was explained for third hour he could only stay for Sacrament Meeting. We gave him that as well as a copy of Preach My Gospel, he seems very keen on sharing the gospel.

As for other call backs, there is nothing that’s coming to mind to mention that’s happened these past two weeks. Things seem to be just going well overall, as am I.

As for the 5th Sunday follow-up, we see most of the members fairly regularly like my previous area. We’ve managed to begin following up on goals people have set and for those who have set goals offer our help in achieving them.

As for Laura we have an appointment set for tomorrow. There are also a couple potential investigators we’ve managed to get appointments with this coming week.

For yesterday, Julian got up and bore his testimony of the spirit he feels as he comes to church as well as heard the other members testimonies.

Other than that we’re keeping on plugging along. Today as part of our preparation day we are going to the St. Louis Science Center with a member and 4 other missionaries. We also have our interviews with President Clark tomorrow.

The 5th Sunday lesson went well. Our role is to help and follow up with the individual members and families to help them set and reach their personal goals.

Jullian also continues to do well. He had to do some babysitting for his mom yesterday, but he made sure to come to sacrament meeting beforehand.

We also had two one-hour “blitzes” of the area. On Tuesday after district meeting we went with our district leader, his companion and our zone leaders and split up. Also, the Assistants are apparently doing similar things all over the mission, and yesterday was our day coincidentally. We managed to find a handful of potential investigators in that tracting time.

Other than that there isn’t much else to add or report on.

Julian continues to do well. As for his calling, there aren’t a lot but there is a good number of young single adults here.

This coming Sunday for the 5th Sunday lesson it is going to be about the Ward Mission plan, which we’ve started with a part of it where whenever we visit a member we help them set a specific personal/family goal and have them put it on an index card and then stick a little magnet on it so they can put it on their fridge. Hopefully it will work well.

As for the BYU application everything is almost done. BYU still hasn’t received my transcript from MCC and that is the last thing. I sent in the transcript request to MCC almost two weeks ago. The application is due the first of February. President Clark took care of the Ecclesiastical Endorsement yesterday and I don’t have to pay the application fee to re-apply.

Other than all of that, we’re really trying to find people to teach. This past week we’ve done a bit of tracting, following up on potentials that previous missionaries found as well as some part member families.

Other than that there really isn’t much going on here. Both I and Elder Nebeker are doing well here.
