A couple things happened to note this week. We had an appointment with Laura at our Ward Mission Leader’s house this past Thursday, but she was out of money for gas to get there, so we are planning on this Thursday, which also is when we have dinner with them, so it should be good.

The 5th Sunday lesson went well. Our role is to help and follow up with the individual members and families to help them set and reach their personal goals.

Jullian also continues to do well. He had to do some babysitting for his mom yesterday, but he made sure to come to sacrament meeting beforehand.

We also had two one-hour “blitzes” of the area. On Tuesday after district meeting we went with our district leader, his companion and our zone leaders and split up. Also, the Assistants are apparently doing similar things all over the mission, and yesterday was our day coincidentally. We managed to find a handful of potential investigators in that tracting time.

Other than that there isn’t much else to add or report on.

The week has gone well. There is a lady that came to church this week and last who is looking to move into the ward boundaries and who in the summer took the lessons for a bit. Her name is Laura and we are going to be having an appointment with her in the ward mission leader’s home later this week.

Julian continues to do well. As for his calling, there aren’t a lot but there is a good number of young single adults here.

This coming Sunday for the 5th Sunday lesson it is going to be about the Ward Mission plan, which we’ve started with a part of it where whenever we visit a member we help them set a specific personal/family goal and have them put it on an index card and then stick a little magnet on it so they can put it on their fridge. Hopefully it will work well.

As for the BYU application everything is almost done. BYU still hasn’t received my transcript from MCC and that is the last thing. I sent in the transcript request to MCC almost two weeks ago. The application is due the first of February. President Clark took care of the Ecclesiastical Endorsement yesterday and I don’t have to pay the application fee to re-apply.

Other than all of that, we’re really trying to find people to teach. This past week we’ve done a bit of tracting, following up on potentials that previous missionaries found as well as some part member families.

Other than that there really isn’t much going on here. Both I and Elder Nebeker are doing well here.

As for Julian, we’ve begun the new member lessons with him and on Sunday he received a calling as the young single adult representative of the ward and had his interview to receive the Aaronic Priesthood. As for previous investigators I have not been able to get any news as of yet. As for here in Fenton we recently had a media referral come in that we’ve been able to make contact with family members of but have not yet been able to personally meet yet.

It cooled down a bit and we had some snow, but over the weekend it warmed up and most of it melted. It has cooled back down a bit but isn’t too bad.

Other than that there isn’t much that has changed overall this past week or anything else I can think to add.

Well, the baptism for Julian happened as planned and he was confirmed at church yesterday. There actually were a couple of other missionaries who had taught him that came as well. President and Sister Clark also were there along with a good turnout from the ward. It was very good.

We got the actual transfer calls this Saturday as well and both Elder Nebeker and I are staying in Fenton.

To kind of let you know about how things in Fenton are going. This past week a couple times we went to an investigator here named Jackie and helped her with some things in her yard. She lives a little out in the country and is by herself. While were were there we talked along with her about principles of the gospel and how they’ve helped us among other things.

As for member missionary things. Besides our ward mission leader we have a just called assistant ward mission leader and a couple ward missionaries. We work fairly closely with our ward mission leader and there are some other members that are very oriented to sharing the gospel here. Also, similar to the Missouri River Ward, the members Fenton Ward is very good about inviting us over for dinner almost every day.

Other than the things happening here and the questions I answered, there isn’t much else to add besides.

So, as you may have noticed the library was closed yesterday, we had district meeting earlier today and we are now getting to e-mailing. It’s been good, the weather has been fairly warm as you’ve noticed. As for word concerning Nicole, I have not yet heard.

We have a baptism this coming Saturday as I mentioned. Things are looking good for that. We are actually on exchanges now and Elder Nebeker and our district leader are meeting with him later today for Jullian’s interview for baptism.

Other than that nothing much else to add. On New Years Eve we were asked to do a deep cleaning of our apartments and to be inside after dark. It was good. Also, on Sunday there was a family that is from Cape Girardeau that was visiting family that’s here in the Fenton Ward.

Well, I have a bit of a surprise. As a result of missionaries going home early for Christmas, on Saturday Elder Strebe and I got a call letting us know that we were both getting transferred. The transfer took place earlier today. Elder Strebe went to St. Peters, MO and I went to Fenton, MO. My new address is:

As for the package it came last week, so I have that with me now.

As for Nicole, we met with her this last Thursday and she had earlier that day talked with her mom, who wasn’t pleased but was supportive of her decision. She had also said she would support her in talking about it with her father as well. Hopefully it ends up going well. If I manage to hear anything about it in the future I will keep you up-to-date.

Other than that, because of the transfer I don’t know much else to let you know about what is going on. My new companion is Elder Nebeker. After I find out a bit about him, and what is going on here I’ll let you know on Christmas.

This week was good. One thing we did is we had two sets of missionaries come and we swapped companions for a couple hours and did a blitz of the area. As a result in those few hours we were able to find about seven potential investigators.

We also had Stake Conference, with the topic being “The Extraordinary Book of Mormon”. It was good.

Other than that we haven’t gotten much done this past week. We weren’t able to catch anyone else home. We did manage to set up to meet with Nicole a few times more between now and Christmas, to hopefully get her ready and confident in telling her parents.

Starting tonight we are going to begin with the appointments our Ward Mission Leader has setup with various families. It should be very good.

Nothing else really to report on. Just let me know when a good time to call when I call on Christmas, because there is only one more Monday to coordinate that between then and now.

Working with Elder Strebe has been good, and staying here is also great. There is nothing else really to add about this past week. We had the Ward Christmas Party and there were many less-active members that ended up coming and it was a great time.

We’ve tried in stopping by Tim and Holly, but haven’t had any success with that yet. Nicole couldn’t make it to church yesterday, but is moving forward still.

One thing that’s coming up tomorrow is Elder Malm of the Seventy is coming to meet with us. We each had to prepare a 5-minute talk on becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ and a success story so that he can call on us to do so.

One thing that I am going to need though. I’m going to talk to President Clark about on Monday’s when doing e-mailing about getting a re-application to BYU, and I’m probably going to need to access my record from MCC. For that I need either the information from, or a photocopy of the Student ID, which I believe is in the shoe box that I handed to you before I left.

Both Elder Strebe and I are doing well and have roughly prepared so far a short Christmas related lesson to start giving to active, less-active and non-members starting tomorrow in an effort to try and make this a productive time of year, rather than a nonproductive one if we continue doing more traditional missionary work. It should work well.

The week has been good. As for the transfer calls we got this past Saturday it turns out both Elder Strebe and I are staying. In fact, everyone in the district here is staying. As for Thanksgiving we had football in the morning and went to two members homes and ate at both. That was essentially the day.

As for Holly we have not heard from her and are going to go by this week. As for Tim, we stopped by but he was busy right then, so we are going to the same for him as well. Nicole is continuing to progress and was at church again yesterday. As for the weather, it’s been cool this week with the last couple days being cold and wet, and that’s about it for weather.

As for the rest of everything else there isn’t much because there wasn’t much of anyone that we were able to meet with this week. We did manage to run into someone who had been taught by missionaries in the past, but he hadn’t and seems as if he still refuses to pray concerning the Book of Mormon or Joseph Smith since he doesn’t think it would be right since he already prayed and got an answer about the Bible before.

Other than that not much else is going on right now. Thank you for all the support that you’ve been able to give.

We do not have a date for Nicole’s baptism, but she did set a date for when she wants to tell her parents. She’s going to tell them before Christmas, so she will mostly likely get a date shortly after that happens.

As for Tim, we are planning on following up this week sometime. So far we’ve found one other potential investigator, while knocking on doors this past week we met a lady named Holly. She was very interested, but wanted to talk with her husband before setting a time. We will be following up on that soon.

As for Thanksgiving, we aren’t doing much with other missionaries, but we are going to play some football and go to some member’s homes throughout the day.

Other than that there isn’t much going on. We have transfer calls coming this coming Saturday and we’ll see what happens.
